Our ISR® volunteer from Flurys – Jasmine Ansari (Management Trainee) – taught five youths, aged 18-21 years, under the aegis of NGO Life Project for Youth, how to work in a bakery at the kitchen of Kolkata’s iconic tea-room. Jasmine first told them what constitutes a bakery and then showed them various portions of a bakery by taking them around the Flurys kitchen. Then she showed them in a step-by-step manner the various utensils used in a bakery and how to use them. She also told them what alternatives to use in case such utensils are not available. After that, she taught them how to bake a plain cake and a fruit cake.
