ADVOCACY

Our ISR® volunteers from Kolkata – Surojit Banik from Oxford Bookstore and Sumit Dasgupta from the Corporate Communications team – used their painting skills to take forward Apeejay Shipping’s commitment to prevent illegal trade of wildlife by drawing the motif of Unite For Wildlife in the crew smoking room of APJ Kabir Anand. The volunteers visited the ship at Haldia port near Kolkata. They carried with them acrylic paints and brushes and started by drawing an outline of the motif and then filling it up with colours that symbolize the motif. They spent 5 hours in completing the painting and then pasted Apeejay Shipping’s Wildlife Policy beside the painting in order to make the crew aware about the policy. This was the 6th ship where our volunteers have taken forward Apeejay Shipping’s commitment to the Buckingham Palace Declaration, which was signed in 2016.
