Our ISR® volunteers from The Park Chennai – Sangeetha (Assistant Sales Manager), Mithun (Housekeeping Supervisor), Sangeetha (Front Office Assistant) and Nithya (Banquet Coordinator) – travelled to Apeejay Shipping’s 74,107 MT DWT Gearless Panamax APJ Uma Kismat at Ennore Port for spreading awareness through Ship Art on Buckingham Palace Declaration, of which Apeejay Shipping is one of the signatories, as well as making the on-board staff aware of ASL’s Wildlife Policy of zero tolerance for illegal wildlife trade. The volunteers painted the motif of “Unite for Wildlife” in the officer’s smoke room and pasted the policy beside the motif so that it is clearly visible to the crew.

Earlier in 2018, our ISR® volunteer from Oxford Bookstore Kolkata, Surojit Banik, a graphic designer by profession and a brilliant artist himself, had initiated this activity of drawing the motif of “United for Wildlife” on 3 ASL ships – APJ Mahakali, APJ Kais and APJ Jad – to spread awareness on prevention of illegal wildlife trade through Ship Art.
